Hitomebore was born in 1991 at the Furukawa Agricultural Experiment Station in Miyagi Prefecture, with "Koshihikari" and "Hatsuboshi" as its parents. Hitomebore is highly resistant to cold damage and is characterized by its excellent taste, aroma, and strong stickiness, making it a high-quality rice variety.
